Yoga Classes
Experience a yoga class unlike any other at Creative Therapeutics. Our teachers combine their extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology with the yogic philosophy of uniting the mind, body and spirit through the use of Hatha Yoga asanas, or poses. The instructors correct each individual's form and incorporate the use of props to correct alignment and deepen the experience of the pose. Each pose is easily adapted to ensure that participants at every level are successful. When yoga asanas are taught with attention to the body and form, they can truly bring about life altering changes. These changes range from improved strength, flexibility, and balance to decreased pain, anxiety, and tension, which can ultimately improve your quality of life and your relationships with others.

YOGA WORKSHOPS
Saturday 1 - 4 pm: Exploring Yin Yoga and MIndfulness Meditation

Explore the quieter side of yoga and discover why less is more. Yin yoga is not a different style of yoga but is a different way to BE your yoga. Learn the basic principles of Yin yoga and discover how it is a complement to active yoga practices as well as to our busy lives...Yin yoga is recommended for people who are chronically “stiff”, for athletes, and for anyone who wants to alleviate tight hips and low back pain. A unique basic yoga class in which the focus will be upon bone health and strengthening the skeletal system. However, since the beauty of yoga is that it cannot, by it's very nature, work upon only one system of the body independent from the rest, the entire body will benefit! Poses (asanas) will be done with props as needed and with special attention to individual needs. This class will be great for anyone with bone density concerns or common aches and pains, and for all those who are interested in learning how to strengthen, stabilize and vitalize the entire body through yoga.

Beginning Yoga is designed for those dealing with injuries, or who have limited experience with yoga. The one hour class focuses on basic yoga postures with one-on-one instruction to help facilitate proper breathing, body positioning, and holds.

Wednesday 5:00 - 6:15 pm: Gentle Yoga
January 11th - February 29th
One of the interesting aspects of yoga is that it is so adaptable to the individual needs of the practitioner. Regardless of what restrictions a student may have, most postures can be modified in such a way that the benefits of the pose are not lost. Some poses may be broken down into smaller parts so that they are not so overwhelming. The basics are the same with Gentle Yoga. Through the use of gentle stretching and breathing techniques all the benefits are still enjoyed. Yoga is an ancient art of physical well-being which promotes optimum health. The practice helps to develop strength, stamina, flexibility, reduces stress, tones muscles, organs, joints and the nervous system. In addition, the practice helps to improve concentration, and helps to develop an awareness of the link between body, mind, and breath. The results are feeling relaxed, energized, grounded, balanced, connected, lighter, and younger. With Gentle Yoga, sometimes less is more.
